Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get any funding assistance?

If you reside and are a citizen of a UN-Listed Least Developed Country, you may register at the reduced registration rate. In addition, discounts are available for students and NGO’s. Unfortunately, as we (the International RiverFoundation) are a small not-for-profit organisation, we are unable to provide funding assistance outside of these reduced registration rates, and cannot offer support for accommodation, flights or any other expenses.

How do I register?

Please complete the registration form, noting that you must make payment via credit card or direct debit at the time of registration.

I am a speaker. How do I register?

Please refer to the instructions provided in your presenter confirmation email. You will be prompted to complete the registration form and payment before the 28th of June to ensure your spot in the program. Registering before the 31st May means you are eligible for the super early bird registration fee.

I am a speaker and would like to register for a single day.

If the program has not been released but you would like to register with single day registration. Register for any day and once the program is released with your allocated day of presentation, email irs19@arinex.com.au to request a change of registration day.

How much do I have to pay?

Please refer to the prices on our registration page.

Can you assist with my visa requirements?

We are unable to provide support with your visa application, but we can provide a letter of invitation if needed. Please contact us at irs@riverfoundation.org.au to make a request.

Where can I stay?

Please check our Accommodation page for various discounted accommodation offers. We strongly suggest booking accommodation as soon as possible as availability in central areas of Brisbane goes quickly. We also recommend checking out independent sites such as AirBnB for more options.

When will I find out when I am presenting?

Our program is being developed over the coming weeks. You will be notified when the first version of the program is available on our website.

Will sessions be video recorded?

Sessions will not be recorded—however, proceedings will be made available on the website following the conference.

What is the dress code for the conference and social events?

We recommend smart casual or business attire, and semi-formal or cultural attire for the Riverprize Gala Dinner.

When will the program be available?

Our program will be finalised once abstracts have been confirmed. At this stage, we hope to complete the program by the end of July.

What is the official language of the conference?

The official language of the conference is English and all communication with conference committee should be in English.

Will there be a Riversymposium mobile app?

Yes, there will be an app for the International Riversymposium.

What will be the content of the app?
