Presentation Title:WOMEN IN RIVER SCHOOL:  WOMEN INFORMAL EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE RIVER DEVELOPMENT.

Srikandi Sungai Indonesia (SSI) or Indonesian Women in River was formed on the idea of Vice Rector for Research and Community Service, Universitas Gadjah Mada namely Prof. Dr. Suratman, M.Sc. As a form of academic follow-up on the implementation of the first Indonesian River Congress. SSI consists of female lecturers in all public and private universities in Indonesia under Women institute in each universities who care about the river environment and emphasize the educational aspect as the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

SSI educational program is called by Indonesian Women in River School with the mandate of River Restoration Movement is an accompaniment to the community with the target of women who collaborate theater is the academician and the local women community, meaning the ideas / ideas are participatory driven.

Implementation of ESD in the work plan of Indonesian Women in River School is expected to combine the three pillars of ESD globally associated with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) namely sustainable economy/economy, environmental conservation/ecology and social justice and local wisdom/social benefits to the community (women society targetted) that are (1) Introduction and education of continuity of economic value, (2) Introduction and education of social justice and local wisdom, and (3) The introduction and education of environmental conservation. In addition to embracing the world policy with ESD and SDGs as well as HeForShe Campaign, Indonesian Women in River School also embraces the national policy that is Three Ends Policy.
