Entry Regulations for Austria
- The 3-G rule (vaccinated/recovered or tested) was lifted May 16 2022 for arrivals from all countries
- Currently, no Pre-Travel Clearance is required when entering Austria
- Please also pay attention to the current rules of your country of origin by checking the official government websites
- We also advise all delegates to check the regulations and requirements of their specific airlines regarding Covid regulations
- Make sure you get a clear entry stamp in your passport when you enter the Schengen area for the first time
Visa Information
- Austria is part of the Schengen area, which is made up of 26 European Countries
- Citizens of EU Member States, European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland do not require a visa for entering the Republic of Austria
- We advise all delegates to check their specific requirements on the website here
- Visa requirements for Austria state that all third-country nationals are required to apply for a visa to travel in Austria
Important Note
- Visa applications take time
- If you are applying for a visa, it is recommended that you apply at least 1-2 months prior to your departure to Vienna
Australian Delegates
- Australians do not need a visa to travel to countries in the Schengen for up to 90 days in any 180-day period
- If you stay for more than 90 days in a 180-day period in the Schengen area without a valid visa, you may be fined or banned from entering the Schengen area
