Climate change and water supply

As the bulk water supplier for South East Queensland, Seqwater is responsible for providing a safe, secure and cost-effective water supply, as well as providing catchment, flood mitigation, irrigation and recreation services. Changes to the climate are disrupting the systems we depend on to supply water and pose challenges that we need to understand and respond to. This presentation outlines Seqwater’s approach to climate change adaptation, which includes consideration of climate change in our long-term water supply planning, understanding vulnerability of our assets, working with external stakeholders, and a research portfolio to advance our knowledge.
