30 Aug Australia’s integrated water reform approach
Date: Wednesday 20 September
Time: 1.30pm – 3.00pm
Australia has been implementing a program of reform to change the way water is used and managed across the country for over thirty years. Australia’s trans-boundary issues necessitated the development of a unique set of water governance arrangements that draws on the geographical strengths and jurisdictional responsibilities of all levels of government in Australia to work towards a common goal.
The session will focus on examples of this cooperation through the National Water Quality Management Strategy as well as socio-economic analysis to support implementation of Commonwealth water recovery programs in the Murray-Darling Basin.
