Improving Water Quality Outcomes
The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy is providing funding to natural resource management groups to ensure water resources are sustainably managed. This funding is applied state wide, but also targets water entering the Great Barrier Reef.
An overview of landscape repair activities include gully, streambank and wetland restoration, and practice change to improve soil management and groundcover management. These are important and critical elements to manager water quality across the state.
Funding also covers the department’s Paddock to Reef Integrated Monitoring, Modelling and Reporting Program and covers activities including data collection, management and reporting, regional liaison and regional communications.
